Bodies found in shipping container not suspicious, police confirm

The deaths of two people who were found inside a shipping container in NSW's Central West on Saturday are not thought to be suspicious, police have said.

Police were called to Goolma Road in Gulgong, about 30kms north of Mudgee, after a report was made to officers about a concern for their welfare.

Officers found the bodies of a 55-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman when they arrived at the property on Saturday about 11am.

"A crime scene was established and forensically examined," NSW Police said in a statement.

"A post-mortem was conducted to determine the cause of death of the 55-year-old man and 37-year-old woman and has been deemed not suspicious."

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
