Former One Nation official gagged for now

Former One Nation treasurer Ian Nelson has been temporarily banned by a court from distributing telephone recordings relating to the party.

Leader Pauline Hanson on Thursday launched legal action against Mr Nelson and the ABC after several private conversations were broadcast, showing controversial internal machinations of the party.

NSW Supreme Court Justice Francois Kunc ordered Mr Nelson be restrained from "broadcasting, publishing, distributing, copying" or using telephone recordings that concern One Nation or to which Senator Hanson is a party until the matter returns to court on June 13.

But he didn't make any orders relating to the ABC's use of the tapes.

In one conversation, Senator Hanson allegedly asked how a journalist had found out information about property developer and One Nation supporter Bill McNee buying a plane used by the party.

In a separate conversation party secretary James Ashby allegedly proposed inflating One Nation's electoral expenses so the party could profit from the upcoming Queensland election.
