A former Moody's analyst and another man have pleaded guilty to insider trading.

Daniel Joffe, a former associate analyst of the credit ratings agency, and his friend Nathan Stromer pleaded guilty in the NSW Supreme Court on Friday to using inside information to buy shares in Auckland International Airport Limited in 2006.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) alleged Joffe obtained the inside information during his time at Moody's and passed it on to Stromer.
