Elderly pedestrian hit by 4WD in Sydney
AAP
A 90-year-old man is in intensive care after he tried to cross a busy Sydney highway and was hit by on-coming traffic.
The man got off a bus on Princes Highway on Monday afternoon and walked across three lanes into the path of southbound traffic, narrowly avoiding a truck before being hit by a four-wheel drive, police say.
The driver and witnesses helped the man, who was taken to St George Hospital where he remains in intensive care with serious head and leg injuries.
