A carnival worker accused of acting indecently towards a two-year-old girl in front of her mother at Sydney's Royal Easter Show has pleaded not guilty.

Philip George Osborne, 50, was arrested at the Homebush showgrounds in late March, a day after the girl's mother reported the alleged assault, and pleaded not guilty at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday to one charge of committing an act of indecency with a victim under 10 years old.

Osborne has been on bail since being arrested and must report daily to police ahead of his next appearance at Burwood Local Court on May 24.
