NSW man who killed wife and sons expected to walk free on parole

A NSW man who murdered his wife and two young sons is likely to walk free on parole, after serving 15 years behind bars.

Sandor Cikos bludgeoned de factor partner Allison Penrose to death and strangled their sons, four-year-old Jake and 18-month-old Travis, in the family’s West Dapto home in 1999.

Cikos was found guilty of their murders and sentenced to 21 years in jail, with a non-parole period of 15 years – five years for each life he took.

Ms Penrose’s father, Allan Penrose, said his family is furious after receiving news parole authorities are planning to release Cikos.

“If he’s out, in the world, I really don’t want to come face to face with him,” Mr Penrose told 9NEWS.

“It’s still like yesterday you know – shocking. And you’re living with it every day.

“They’ve got to be worth more than five years each.”

His son Wayne, Ms Penrose’s brother, said the family were shocked a man who killed three people could be released into the public.

“I can’t believe that scumbag like that would be even offered the chance to get out of prison, after what he’s done,” he said.

“It’s really taken its toll on the whole family.”

The family have presented victim impact statements to the parole authority, in the hopes of preventing Cikos’ release.
