The getaway car used in the shooting execution of underworld figure Hamad Assaad in Sydney has been torched on the day of the slain man's funeral.
The 29-year-old was shot in a targeted attack outside his Georges Hall home on Tuesday morning before at least two suspects fled in a black Audi sedan.
The same car was found going up in flames near a park in Birrong early on Friday, police confirmed, ahead of an afternoon memorial for Mr Assaad at Lakemba Mosque.
