Patrons hospitalised after car crashes into hotel courtyard in Capertee, NSW

A man has been charged after a car crashed into a hotel courtyard in a New South Wales village, injuring some patrons.

At about 5.20pm yesterday, emergency services were called to the hotel on Castlereagh Highway, near Bandamore Street in Capertee, north of Lithgow.

Police found a car had hit a concrete pole before crashing into the courtyard.

A 64-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman, both patrons at the hotel, were treated for serious injuries and airlifted to hospital.

A third patron, a woman, was treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital.

Four other patrons received treatment for minor injuries at the scene but did not require further care.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was unhurt. He was arrested and taken to Orange Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

On release, he was charged with multiple driving offences and his licence was suspended.

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
