Ban for Syd Aldi after alcohol sold to boy

A Sydney supermarket has had its liquor licence suspended after selling alcohol to a minor.

Aldi at Edgecliff will not be able to sell alcohol until Thursday April 14, following an investigation into the incident in September last year when a cashier sold two six packs of beer to a boy under 18.

The NSW Department of Justice said the minor had been asked for identification but when he said he did not have his wallet the cashier accepted a photograph of a fraudulent drivers licence with a superimposed image of himself on the boy's mobile phone.
