Aussie Invictus Games team returns home

Australia's team of soldiers-turned-athletes will return to Sydney after a successful campaign at the Invictus Games in Canada.

The Australian Defence Force and the Returned and Services League put together a team of 43 athletes for the Toronto games.

The team will return to Sydney's international airport aboard the Royal Australian Air Force KC-30 on Tuesday morning.

The Invictus Games is an initiative of Prince Harry, a veteran of the Afghanistan conflict.

The games brought together more than 550 wounded or ill serving and retired military personnel from 17 nations from September 23 to 30.

The 2018 Invictus Games will be held in Sydney.
