Alleged sex offender arrested a decade on

A man who allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl in NSW more than a decade ago has been charged.

Police say the 10-year-old girl was assaulted by the man, who was known to her, at Newcastle in 2004.

The 51-year-old was arrested at Waratah Police Station on Tuesday and charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, and is expected to face Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.
