NSW man run over by brother at wedding

A man remains in hospital with head injuries after he was run over by his brother at a wedding in the NSW Hunter Valley.

Police say the 31-year-old left a wedding reception at a Booragul restaurant near Newcastle about 9pm on Saturday after bar staff refused to serve him.

Shortly after he left, the man's brother and father went to look for him.

Police say the man's brother backed his car over the man, who was lying on the ground behind the vehicle.

He was rushed to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries.

He remained in stable condition on Sunday, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.

His brother was breath-tested after the incident and returned a negative result.

Police say they don't expect to take action against him.
