'It's a psychological test:' Is this the most confusing parking sign in Sydney?

North Sydney residents are fed up after parking meters were replaced by an app payment system, with one resident sent over the edge by a "complicated," and "confusing" parking sign.

Resident Jimbo spoke to Ben Fordham this morning about the sign that he spotted in North Sydney this week.

The pole includes six parking signs for one section of the street, including two clearways, two no-stopping signs, a 2-hour parking and quarter-hour parking signs.

"Ben it's not a parking sign it's a psychological test, this is just ludicrous," Jimbo said.

"Mate it's some weird dystopian dream I'm living in, in North Sydney.

"If you get to the bottom and you decipher all of those signs on that on pole, yours till have to wrestle with that pay stay app because they are getting rid of the actual meters."

The new parking app makes residents enter a wealth of personal information before they can pay for parking, including their full name, email, phone number, car registration, postcode and credit card details.

"It's so confusing, I mean once you've bared your soul to the council and given them all of their personal details you're then left to figure out what zone you're in," Jimbo said.

"Honestly, it's like they've got cryptographers to make sure nobody cracks the code to parking."

The North Sydney council is moving away from all parking metres, encouraging people to use the app instead.
