The French daredevil who scaled a Melbourne high-rise and sparked a wide-scale police response has told 9News he would do it again.

In his first interview since he was imprisoned, Anthony Andolfo said he had been expecting to be arrested for the dangerous stunt.

"I knew I would be arrested, it's always like this," he said.

"You climb, you get arrested but usually after a few hours you get released.

"But not in Australia."

Andolfo was sentenced to seven days in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges.

His hour-long climb in the CBD last month shocked onlookers and tied up police resources.

When asked if he had anything to say to the emergency service personnel who wasted their time, Andolfo refused.

"I've done my climb, [the police] have done their job, I think that's normal actually," he said.

Despite having to spend his 30th birthday in Port Phillip Prison, Andolfo said the thrill of the stunt was worth it.

"Of course I would do it again."

Now released, he will fly from Melbourne tomorrow.

His next stop is Panama.
