Man shot while riding bicycle in Sydney overnight

A manhunt is underway after a man was shot while riding a bicycle in western Sydney.

At about 11pm overnight, police patrolling Parker Street, Kingswood, pulled over a ute driving in a dangerous manner.

Officers discovered a male passenger with a gunshot wound to his arm.

They were told the 39-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the Cranebrook area when he was shot.

The ute driver, a 43-year-old woman, was uninjured.

The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

An investigation is underway.
