Man in custody after Adelaide stabbing

A man is in police custody tonight following a stabbing in Port Adelaide.

Police were called to Sussex Street around 4.30pm today following reports of an altercation between two men.

The victim, a 43-year-old man from Alberton in Adelaide’s north, suffered serious injuries to his abdomen in the attack and was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A 19-year-old West Lakes man was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with a minor hand injury.

He is currently in custody and is expected to be charged with multiple offences.

Sussex Street was closed to all traffic while police investigated the crime scene.
