Man and dog rescued from mineshaft in South Australia
A man and his dog have been rescued from an eight-metre mineshaft in South Australia.
Police and rescue teams were called to Hughes Engine House on the Yorke Peninsula just before 4pm yesterday, after the puppy slid down the shaft before his owner became stuck attempting to retrieve the animal.
Police said the "adventurous pup" had slid about five to eight metres down the mine shaft.

STAR Group officers were called out to the scene along with Country Fire Service and State Emergency Service teams.
Rescuers belayed down before bringing the pair to safety at 8pm.
The man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Hughes Enginehouse is in the Moonta Mines National Heritage Area.
