Karl Stefanovic makes online comeback in rant about PM Anthony Albanese and petrol prices
Former Today host and podcaster Karl Stefanovic has marked his grand return to Australia with an online rant about fuel prices and the prime minister.
Stefanovic, 52, re-emerged on Instagram with a video announcing he is “back” and “ready to rumble” following an extended period spent in the United Kingdom.

In the minute-long video, Stefanovic took aim at Anthony Albanese over his trip to New York, where the PM co-signed a statement on AI regulation ahead of a meeting at the UN General Assembly.
“What is happening out there? God, it’s just diabolical. Albo’s overseas rabbiting on about some AI framework guidelines for the world to take on without the US and China,” Stefanovic said.
“They’re in a race of their own. It’s complete and utter bulls--t. All the while, what’s the distraction?”
The veteran TV presenter went on to complain about the increasing price of fuel in Australia, which is expected to exceed $2.50 per litre for petrol and $3 for diesel.
Stefanovic filmed his piece-to-camera outside a BP petrol station, where the prices appeared to be blacked out.
“Ooh, there’s a petrol station without its prices. You know what that means? Diesel, three bucks a litre,” he continued.
“All right, so you know what to do. I know you’re all tired. I know you’re all sick and tired of the whole lot.”
He ended his video with a call to action to his followers.
Stefanovic declared it was time to “get busy” and told his supporters to send him proof of rising fuel prices.
“Do not lay down. It’s time to stand up, folks,” he added.

Stefanovic’s independent podcast, The Karl Stefanovic Show, has been embroiled in a legal dispute over ownership of the venture.
Documents have been filed in the NSW Supreme Court relating to a row surrounding the show and the host’s interview with far-right UK provocateur Tommy Robinson.
The interview resulted in Stefanovic and Nine parting ways after more than 25 years.

On September 14, papers on behalf of Stefanovic’s business partner Keshnee Ibrahim were lodged in the NSW Supreme Court over 123 Podcast Pty Ltd ATF the 123 Podcast Unit Trust.
The court heard on Tuesday that Stefanovic and Ibrahim, who each hold a 45 per cent stake in 123 Podcast, had reached an “irreconcilable breakdown” in their relationship.
Stefanovic denied conduct oppressing his business partner after their relationship soured and agreed to buy her out.
No podcast content was released for several weeks.
Stefanovic then published two new episodes featuring billionaire businessman Adrian Portelli and former TV chef Pete Evans.
