Hunt for gunman after man shot in Melbourne

A gunman is on the run after a man was shot at a home in Melbourne's south-east.

The man was found by police at a home on Prince Street in Hampton with serious injuries just before midnight.

Victoria Police say a gunshot was fired from a car in what they believe was a targeted attack.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators searched for a getaway car, but they were unable to find one.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact police.
