Gold Coast driver's shock as snake appears while on highway
A Queensland driver got a "surprise" when a cheeky hitchhiker popped up on their windscreen while they were travelling on a Gold Coast highway.
The green tree snake slithered up the glass in front of Thiago Abreu as he drove to work near Burleigh Heads today.
"That was so scary," Abreu told 9News.

The snake, which isn't venomous, then disappeared into the bonnet and couldn't be retrieved.

Abreu said he left the car parked while at work and hopes reptile worked its way out.
Green tree snakes are found in northern and eastern Australia.
They have no fangs or venom and differ in colour depending on where they are from.
On average, they grow to be 1.2 metres but have been recorded at 1.9m.
