A man and a woman have been arrested over the murder of an Adelaide father, whose dismembered remains were found in a wheelie bin last year.

Geoffrey McLean, 55, vanished August 29, 2022 and his torso was found by a gardener two months later, in October in Salisbury South.

Police announced the arrests of a 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, who are both from Adelaide's northern suburbs, yesterday.

A search was conducted at a Brahma Lodge home.

The pair are expected to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The new arrests come weeks after a man, 51, and a 49-year-old woman were charged with McLean's murder.

Police have now arrested four people over the alleged murder of Geoffrey McLean.

Before his disappearance McLean was subject to four separate attacks, police said last year.

These involved being attacked by a person with acid, being struck with a log splitter, having his car set alight and having a bucket of acid thrown at him.

Police urge anyone with information about McLean, or his subsequent murder and dismemberment, to come forward.
