A popular Australian homewares brand based in Melbourne's inner south has suddenly collapsed after 15 years.

Fenton & Fenton has replaced its online store with a notice that it has gone into liquidation, with Adam Nikitins and Stewart McCallum of EY appointed as administrators to manage the business.

The trendy brand predominantly sold homewares, furniture and artwork online, shipping across Australia and to New Zealand, but also had a brick and mortar store in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran.

Customers have already begun taking to social media to express concern about their orders being filled since discovering the company has gone into administration.

One customer posted on Facebook saying that they paid $325 for a stool months ago that is yet to be delivered, while another has said they are disappointed to have paid money for a pre-order on Sunday.

Fenton & Fenton has been contacted for comment.
