Elderly man dies in hospital almost a week after crash while riding mobility scooter
An elderly man who was struck by a car as he rode a mobility scooter across an intersection in Queensland on Monday has died in hospital.
The 79-year-old was travelling near the intersection of Old Cleveland Road and Buckingham Street in Birkdale at 11.30am.
An initial police investigation has suggested he was hit by an Audi Q5.

The 79-year-old was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, where he died on Thursday, according to a police statement released today.
Police said the driver of the Audi Q5, a 34-year-old Birkdale man, was not physically injured.
Police are seeking dashcam or CCTV in the vicinity of the crash as investigations continue.
