Man charged after supermarket worker critically injured in Sydney's west
A Sydney man has been charged and a supermarket worker is fighting for life after an alleged assault in Blacktown.
The 24-year-old man allegedly pushed the 64-year-old worker just before 6.30pm on Sunday at the supermarket in Sydney's west, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the floor.
Police said the younger man had reportedly been stopped in the self-service area, allegedly trying to leave without paying.

The 64-year-old was taken to Westmead Hospital, where his health deteriorated, and remained in a critical condition on Monday night.
The customer left the store and was last seen boarding a train at Schofields Railway Station.
On Monday morning, Police released CCTV footage of a man wanted over the alleged assault.
They arrested the 25-year-old at a home in Schofields, about eight kilometres north of Blacktown, about 1.30pm and charged him later in the night.
He was refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday, facing a charge of reckless grievous bodily harm and two counts of larceny.
