Bindi Irwin farewells boyfriend in touching Instagram post

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, has penned an emotional farewell note to her boyfriend to mark his return to the US.

 

In a post to Instagram yesterday, Irwin, 18, thanks Florida wakeboarder Chandler Powell, 20, for his enduring friendship.

"I've known you since you were 16 and every day, from the very first day I met you, you've been my sunshine," the young Dancing With the Stars participant writes.

 

"Thank you for everything, you always make me smile, no matter how far apart we may be. 

 

"I miss you so much already. You really do mean the world to me."

Powell travelled to Australia to celebrate Irwin's 18th birthday back in July, before joining the family on their annual Croc Trip the following month.

Irwin said one of the highlights of Powell's visit was celebrating his 20th birthday together while they were hiking through the Great Dividing Range.

Powell has previously described his visit as "amazing" and "memorable".
