Bindi Irwin celebrates 18th birthday with zoo party

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has celebrated her 18th birthday at Australia Zoo with crocodiles and cake.

The young wildlife warrior was treated to a day-long birthday party at the Queensland zoo, with her mother Terri, brother Robert and boyfriend Chandler Powell.

Earlier this afternoon, Bindi blew out the candles of her milestone birthday cake at the park’s crocodile feeding arena, the Crocoseum.

In honour of Bindi’s love for the great outdoors and recent victory on the US series of Dancing With The Stars, the day was dubbed “Camping with the Stars”.

Outdoor activities included rock climbing and three-legged races.

Bindi spent the morning reaching out to supporters on social media to thank them for their support.

“Life is constantly evolving and I'm determined to find the light and love around every corner and share this with everyone who is a part of my story,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.

“I can’t wait to see what is yet to come”.

In another Instagram post, Bindi paid tribute to the “unconditional love shared between her family”.

The tribute accompanied a photograph of Bindi as a child, being held by her parents.

Bindi has been in the public eye since birth, and has actively followed in the footsteps of her late father, carving out a career as a promoter of environmental awareness.

In 2014, she was named Young Conservationist of the Year by Sydney’s Geographic Society.
