Australia's Top 10 beaches revealed for 2025
The verdict is in, Australia's Top 10 beaches have been revealed by Tourism Australia.
"There is no doubt that Australia has the best beaches in the world, and Tourism Australia's 2025 Best Australian Beaches list highlights just how extraordinary our coastline is," Tourism Minister Don Farrell said.

10. Cowes Beach, VIC
Coming in at number 10 is Cowes Beach on Victoria's Phillip Island.
The stunning clear water can be viewed from the yellow sand or the long jetty.
9. Caves Beach, NSW
Lake Macquarie's Caves Beach came in at number 9 on the list.
The beach in the NSW Hunter Region spans 30km with stunning caves spotted along the coastline.
8. Scarborough Beach, WA
The first entry for Western Australia into the top ten is Scarborough Beach, coming in at number 8.
The massive coastline is a favourite of locals, and no doubt soon the rest of Australia.
The beach has something for everyone, a swell for surfers, sandy banks for kids and an open-air swimming pool for those who want a calmer swim.
7. 1770, Queensland
1770 Beach in Queensland is perfect for families with small kids due to the calm water and shallow depth.
It's come in at number 7 on the list.
Australian coastal veteran Brad Framer said picking the top ten beaches was a challenge.
"Having to pick from almost 12,000 candidates is not an easy job and at time the selections create plenty of debate, which I welcome, and I look forward to the feedback on this year's top 10," Farmer said.
6. Fishery Bay, SA
Fishery Bay was named number 6 on the list.
The beach is the only entry from South Australia in the top ten this year.
"I was thrilled to see Fishery Bay on the Eyre Peninsula in SA make the top 10 – my great grandfather was the first harbour master at nearby Arno Bay, which is also a stunning spot," Tourism Minister Don Farrell said.
5. Little Lagoon, WA
Western Australia's Little Lagoon came in at number 5 on the list, marking the last entry for the state on the top ten list.
"In 2025 we recognise beaches of all shapes and sizes right around the country," Farmer said.
4. North Kirra Beach, Queensland
Just missing out on the top three is North Kirra Beach on Queensland's Gold Coast.
The beach is a famous point break, attracting surfers from all around the world when the swell is up.
3. Emily Bay Lagoon, Norfolk Island
The stunning Emily Bay Lagoon on Norfolk Island came in at number 3.
With turquoise blue water, lush greenery and spotless sandy beach, its easy to see how the lagoon cracked the top three.
"Every beach which makes the list is a winner and this year really highlights the incredible diversity of the beach offerings we have here in Australia," Farmer said.
"It really is like nowhere else in the world."
2. Woolgoolga, NSW
Coming in Second is NSW's Woolgoola beach.
The beach on the Mid-North Coast is renowned for its snorkelling and swimming spots, as well as its swell for surf fanatics.
"This year's list showcases to the world what Aussies already know – that Bondi and Brighton are great, but it's worth the journey to see some truly unique beaches in regional Australia," Farrell said.
