Woman hit by bus after charging into traffic

A woman has survived being hit by a bus after carelessly stepping out into oncoming traffic.

Dash cam video taken on October 15 on Balestier Rd in Singapore, showed traffic stopped at an intersection in the early afternoon.

A 39-year-old woman and a man passed in front of the camera while trying to cross the road, oblivious of a bus approaching in the distance.

Without even looking, the woman stepped in front of the heavy vehicle, causing a loud “bang” as it knocked her to the ground.

A small crowd gathered to support the woman who was transported to hospital in a stable condition, local media reports.

A police spokesman told the Straits Times it was still investigating the incident.

"We are in touch with her family to find out how she is and to render assistance as best we can," he said.
