Wingsuit daredevil flies through tiny target after helicopter jump

A wingsuit daredevil's precision hit on a tiny target happened at speeds so fast the video has to be slowed down to effectively register what happened.

Steering with nothing more than his arms and legs, Chilean wingsuiter Sebastian Alvarez jumped from a helicopter and flew through a target smaller than a dining room table.

A smoke flare attached to his ankle shows Alvarez steering left and right so he can hit a target kilometres away.

At high speed and using nothing more than gravity and the movement of his limbs, Alvarez approaches a foam flag held just metres off jagged rocks on the extinct volcano Cerro Manquehue.

As planned, the wingsuit pilot smashes through the target, before gliding down to the streets of Santiago below and deploying his parachute.

While it is not known how fast he flew, video posted on Sunday shows the impact was so fast the tiny target was reduced to a puff of confetti.

The incredible stunt has to be seen to be believed.
