Weather-woman proposed to live on air

Love was literally in the air during a live broadcast of Mexico’s Telediario Nocturno daily news yesterday.

Weather-woman Marcela Mistral got a huge shock as she read out the five-day forecast when boyfriend Poncho de Nigris broke into her segment and appeared on the big screen behind her.

The tux-wearing Mr Nigris strides out onto the set to seize hold of a stunned Ms Mistral.

“Hey Marcela, my love. I would like to tell you something, so I’d like one minute of your time, if you’ll let me?” he says.

Ms Mistral then tells her boyfriend he better have a good reason for interrupting her at work.

“I’ve come to propose we start a life together and that you'll always be by my side during this life - that you’ll be my wife,” replies Mr Nigris.

“Oh, no. Dear God,” comes the reply, as tears well up in the weather-woman's eyes.

Mr Nigris then gets straight to the point: “Do you want to marry me?”

“Yes!” replies an ecstatic Mistral.

The two were congratulated by the news co-anchors as the bulletin went off the air.
