An English literature student has told the British PM David Cameron what every voter wants to say and every politician needs to hear.

Soraya Bouazzaoui had the opportunity to ask a question about the UK's possible exit from the European Union at a forum on Sky News overnight.

But she cut him off midway through when she was unhappy with Mr Cameron's answer.

"That's not answering my question. Let me finish now, because I’ve seen you interrupt many people beforehand. Let me finish now," she told him.

"I've seen you interrupt many people, I'm an English literature student, I know waffling when I see it."

The crowd laughed and applauded Ms Bouazzaoui as she pressured Cameron to address her specific concerns about Turkey in the EU.

To his credit, Mr Cameron gave a far more direct answer on the remote prospect of Turkey joining the EU.

Ms Bouazzaoui was praised on social media for her candour.

But not everyone was on her side.

The UK will vote on whether to leave the European Union on June 23.
