Young boy runs rampant, trashes shop

When somebody sets out to damage as much of a shop's stock as possible, your immediate reaction would be to stop them.

But when the vandal is an unaccompanied child, it's hard to know what to do.

Video has emerged showing a boy, about 10, knocking countless items off the shelves of a low-price convenience store in Tallahassee, Florida, with staff doing nothing to stop it.

The three-minute-long rampage is filmed by a bemused shopper, who narrates the bad behaviour with plenty of slang.

"Jit is going ham in dollar store. Believe that," he said.

"He need his ass whooped."

Jit is slang for a rebellious youngster, while ham means ballistic.

As the cameraman narrates the video, the child hurls boxes of cereal at him.

"I want to know whose jit this is," he says.

"The man in the store don't even know what to do."

Eventually one customer has had enough, and grabs the boy by the back of the shirt and carries him outside.

Police said the customer was waiting with the boy outside the store when they arrived.

Though the rampage took place on December 9, the video was only uploaded to YouTube on Monday.

While police attended the scene, it is not known if the boy was arrested or charged.
