Six people have been injured in a stabbing attack at New York’s Penn Station, with authorities confirming a suspect is in custody.
Emergency crews responded to the scene at around 7pm, tending to multiple victims at the major transport hub.

Paramedics found one person with serious injuries, two with moderate injuries, and the remaining victims with minor injuries. All five were taken to Bellevue Hospital.
Another victim, whose condition was not immediately known, was taken to a different hospital.

Authorities said that the suspect was in custody but have not yet released details about what led to the stabbing or whether the victims were specifically targeted.
By late Sunday evening, travellers continued through the station, passing a cordoned-off area near Tracks 5 and 6, where medical gloves, discarded bandages, and smears of blood were still visible on the floor.
The violence unfolded at one of the busiest travel terminals in the United States less than 24 hours before US President Donald Trump is due to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, which sits above Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan.
Trump’s planned visit has already prompted extensive security measures around the arena and surrounding streets, with the Secret Service, New York Police Department, and other agencies expected to maintain a strong presence ahead of the nationally televised game.
Authorities have not said if the stabbings will affect security arrangements for Monday night’s event.
Tomorrow’s clash between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs marks the first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden since 1999 and will draw thousands of fans to the area.
Amtrak police said they were investigating the stabbing and had taken a suspect into custody.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or provided details about potential charges.
