Drink driver may be undone by Facebook past
Collen Cudney.
A woman who bragged on Facebook about beating a breathalyser after a day of drinking may have spoken too soon after police were alerted to the post.
Michigan woman Collen Cudney was convicted of drink-driving in 2012 and was banned from consuming alcohol as part of her probation, Delaware Online reports.
When she was asked to visit her local police station for a random breath test the day after St Patrick’s Day she may have been apprehensive but was thrilled when she learnt that she had beaten the test.
An elated Cudney took to Facebook a short time after, and posted: “Buzz killer for me, I had to breathalyze (sic) this morning and I drank yesterday but I passed thank god lol my dumba@@..
But her relief was shortlived after the Facebook post came to the attention of police.
When a parole officer called Cudney to ask her to submit to a urine test she reportedly hung up.
She has since deleted the potentially incriminating post from her Facebook page.
Cudney appeared in court for a probation hearing today.
The outcome is not known at this stage but she could be sentenced to 93 days jail.
