Donald Trump criticises female reporter for never smiling

Donald Trump has launched an unprompted attack on a prominent reporter during a press conference in the Oval Office.
More than a minute into an answer on his controversial compensation fund for his supporters, he turned his ire towards CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.

“But with a corrupt reporter standing right there, never smiles,” Trump said.
“You never see a young, beautiful woman who never smiles. I never see a smile on her face.
“I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes.”
When Collins tried to interject, he told her: “Be quiet”.
“You used to be a conservative,” he said.
“She was a conservative from Alabama. Can you believe it?”
Collins replied: “I’m still from Alabama.”
Trump has a long history of commenting on the appearance of female reporters.
In November he called a journalist “piggy” when she tried to ask him a question about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
“Quiet. Quiet, piggy,” Trump told her.
And in April he demanded a Fox News co-host be taken off TV, criticising her appearance and voice.
“I am watching one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television, Jessica Tarlov,” Trump said.
“Her voice is so grating and terrible, I had to ‘turn her off!’”

He also described a New York Times reporter as “ugly, both inside and out”.
At today’s press conference, Trump displayed a diagram of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, comparing its length to the height of New York skyscrapers.
It took place before a vote held in the House of Representatives that served as a stunning rebuke of the president.
The Iran war powers resolution would end the war or force the president to get approval from Congress to continue it.
The bill has passed on a narrow 215-208 vote after four Republicans crossed the floor to vote with Democrats. Another six Republicans did not vote.
There were cheers in the House as the resolution passed.
“A majority of Americans are sick and tired of this president’s reckless warmongering,” Democratic Congressman Dwight Evans said.
The resolution will now go to the Senate, where it stands a relatively strong chance of passing.
Trump has not spoken on the House resolution since it passed earlier this morning.
