US teen screams as burglar finds her hiding in wardrobe

A US teenager’s piercing screams as a burglar found her hiding inside a wardrobe have been caught on camera.

The burglar knocked on the door of Bobi-Jo Pederson McCalley's Californian home on Sunday afternoon, Fox News reports.

The mother wasn’t home at the time, but her 13-year-old daughter was.

Following her mother’s strict instructions not answer the door if it was a stranger knocking, the girl ignored him.

The burglar then kicked in the door, however, and the girl fled to the wardrobe where she dialled 911.

The intruder is then alleged to have filled a bag with jewellery.

The girl was still on the phone to the emergency operator when the man burst open the wardrobe door and began growling at her.

Surveillance cameras inside the home filmed the whole terrifying encounter.

As the girl screamed she tried to hit the intruder who then fled the scene with another man who had been waiting outside the home.

Police are still trying to track down the men involved and have appealed to witnesses to come forward.
