A police has sting snared a US lawyer who attempted to hypnotise a female client for his own sexual pleasure.

Undercover video released on Tuesday showed Michael Fine, who was convicted on multiple charges last year, trying to take advantage of a woman in his office, reports ktla.com.

The sting was set up in 2014 after the woman went to police, complaining she had lost track of time and her clothing was dishevelled.

The victim returned to Fine's office with a hidden camera.

During what he described as a "relaxation session" the lawyer can be heard saying:  "Let's take a deep breath ... one more time.  Ok, I gotta calm down, let's do this together."

Footage shows Fine's language becoming more graphic when they move to an office couch.

He tells her: "Every time I say the word pleasure, you cannot constrain or hold yourself back, your entire body is a vessel of pleasure."

Later he says: "When is the last time you made love? Every time I touch you, it's gonna be an incredible sensation. At the count of three, you won't be able to control yourself."

A few minutes later Fine wakes the woman and begins discussing paperwork they need to complete.

But within a few seconds police enter the room and arrest him.

At his trial last year he plead guilty to hypnotising five other women.
