Woman finds python living in loudspeaker

Staff at a Swedish pet store came up with an ingenious – and slightly dangerous – plan to coax a python out of a loudspeaker before grabbing it by the neck.

A local woman took the snake to the shop after she chased the slithering reptile across her Stockholm apartment before it hid inside the speaker.

After calling the police, who failed to free the unwanted house guest, she took the loudspeaker and its occupant to the local Skansen aquarium.

Delicately, and with the help of a dead mouse, staff managed to entice the snake out of its hiding spot – grabbing it by the neck and pulling it out.

The entire dramatic moment was caught on camera.

"We decided to offer the snake a dead, delicious mouse right by the hole of the loudspeaker," aquarium managing director Jonas Wahlström told The Local.

"It finally poked its head out and we grabbed it," he added.

Authorities suspect the snake was a non-deadly Australian carpet python and was likely a neighbour’s pet.
