Model refuses 'tiring' community service

Sophie Dalzell was handed 400 hours of unpaid work in May last year as punishment for attacking two police officers.

But the British glamour model is now refusing to do the community service because it makes her "too tired," the Manchester Evening News reports.

Dalzell, 20, from Manchester, still has 180 hours left to do and has not carried out any work for seven months.

Her duties include picking up rubbish and raking up leaves in 8am to 4pm shifts.

"I get paid a minimum of £500 (A$900) for a photoshoot and the rest of the time I just chill out, so I don't think the courts should be able to put me on community service because I find it too hard and tiring," she was quoted as saying in a newspaper interview.

"The days are too long and the work is too physical for me, compared to what I'm used to."

Dalzell was hauled before Manchester Magistrate's Court last week, charged with breaching her order for missing two probation appointments in January.

But she escaped further punishment by producing a letter from her surgeon confirming she was in Belgium having breast augmentation surgery.
