Glastonbury festivalgoers leave behind sea of brand new tents

A disgusted British man has filmed a sea of hundreds of brand new tents, airbeds and camp chairs left behind by revellers after the Glastonbury festival.

The world famous music festival headlined by superstar Adele - wrapped up last weekend in Somerset, with many ignoring signs pleading them to take home their tents and other belongings.

A video posted to YouTube by a man walking through one of the festival fields shows a staggering amount of waste left behind by festivalgoers.

“It’s all the same, there’s wine, alcohol, gas bottles, tents, camping chairs, trolleys and airbeds,” the man, who posted under the account Flashing Frog, says in the video.

“It’s a disposable society. Makes me sick,” the man says, pointing out an airbed with a quilt, pillow, and clothes piled on top of it.

Charities had set up collection points at the festival for people to donate their tents and camping gear, but many were seemingly too lazy to even take the tents down, the man said.

More than 150,000 people flocked to the festival this year.

Glastonbury Festival recorded pre-tax profits of $1.3m in 2013, but that dropped to just over $150,000 last year, because of upkeep costs and charitable donations, ITV reports.
