Father who keyed $200k supercar facing jail

A British man who senselessly vandalised a luxury supercar in view of his young child could be jailed after pleading guilty to criminal damage.

Hackney man Gary Brissett copped to the offence, committed in June, after being caught dead to rights thanks to a dashcam left running inside the Aston Martin Vanquish, which was parked in a supermarket carpark in the east London suburb.

The video, which went viral after police released it last month, clearly shows the 48-year-old Brissett pushing the baby carriage with one hand while scraping his keys down the side of the $220,000 car with the other, causing nearly $17,000 of cosmetic damage.

"You are a single father with a 13-month-old little baby and at that age they start to copy you. You have got to be a lot more proactive with your child," Magistrate Carol Brabender said during the hearing.

"You are looking at a prison sentence. Who is going to look after your child, social services? What a stupid thing to do."

Brissett, who will be sentenced later this month, was told he may face jail.

When asked if he had anything to say, Brissett shook his head.

"You're silly, aren't you?" Magistrate Brabender said.

"A man of your age too."
