60 Minutes crew attacked in Sweden

Crew members from 60 Minutes have been injured after being confronted and attacked while reporting a story about the migrant crisis in Sweden.

A producer and cameraman were "slightly injured" in a series of scuffles yesterday afternoon, a Channel Nine statement reads.

"In a suburb of Stockholm yesterday they were confronted by a group who objected to them filming," the statement says.

"The crew have now returned to their hotel and are all fine."

Liz Hayes and a crew were visiting the heavily migrant Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby with a reporter from Swedish news outlet Avpixlat.

Avpixlat reported a local man drove over the cameraman's foot, before another crew member was struck in the face by a masked man.

Filming on the story will continue tomorrow and will likely be broadcast on 60 Minutes in coming weeks.

60 Minutes is covering the migrant crisis in Europe and the backlash across the continent.

Tensions between asylum seekers and Europeans remain high in recent weeks.

In Calais on the French side of the English channel, police used tear gas to clear a migrant camp commonly referred to as The Jungle yesterday.

Meanwhile in Greece, refugees from Syria and Iraq were filmed using a makeshift battering ram to break open the border fence with Macedonia.
