Today in History - July 7: Seriously injured tycoon designs invention that's now in every hospital
Eccentric tycoon Howard Hughes was nearly killed piloting prototype reconnaissance aircraft XF-11 on July 7, 1946.
Hughes suffered terrible burns and was in excruciating pain.
