Thief falls into ditch filled with oil at auto workshop

If there's an opposite of the Ocean's 11 heist, this is probably it.

A thief who broke into a mechanic's workshop in Brazil has tripped and landed in a ditch designed to hold used engine oil.

Walking around in the dark, the thief was unable to see the serious hazard in front of him, but thanks to the magic of night-vision surveillance video, the world can relive his pratfall over and over again.

The footage shot on Tuesday night shows him landing with a serious splash in the trench before emerging covered in oil.

But the fall didn't deter the bandit, who was able to find about $78 in cash before making his escape.

The thief is still at large, but police received a pretty good look at his face when he walked up to and peered directly into the surveillance camera.

The break-in took place in the city of Sorocaba near Sao Paulo.
