South Korean pop star Jonghyun dies suddenly

A South Korean pop star has died suddenly after being found unconscious in his Seoul home.

Kim Jon-hyun, known as Jonghyun, is part of the country’s biggest boy band, Shinee.

The 28-year-old was reportedly found by his sister and was pronounced dead at hospital.

Police told the Korean media that suicide is being investigated as a possible cause of death.

Jonghyun shot to fame when the band was formed in 2008.

He played a large part in Shinee’s songwriting and production and launched a solo career in 2015.

He was also known for his support of LGBT rights.
