Sixty-nine-year-old New York Giants coach bowled over by own player

New York Giants NFL player Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie may be running a few extra laps at training this week after knocking 69-year-old head coach, Tom Coughlin, to the ground.

The Miami Dolphins were hosting the Giants when quarterback Ryan Tannehill, under pressure, heaved the ball just over the sideline.

Rodgers-Cromartie diligently followed the path of the ball, and with his eyes in the air, failed to see he was making a beeline for his coach.

Despite the best efforts from Coughlin, he failed to dodge the rapidly oncoming 94kg cornerback, and was thrown to the ground.

But the Superbowl winning coach jumped straight back to his feet, in a better result than a similar collision in 2011, which left him with a torn hamstring.
