Chased shoplifter in spectacular trolley stack

A clumsy Canadian shoplifter had only a few seconds to enjoy her ill-gotten gains before tripping over in a carpark last month.

Video from a Walmart store in Fergus, Ontario province, showed the thief being chased by staff as she was making off with $650 of stolen items in a shopping trolley.

But she only made it a few metres from the shop entrance before spectacularly stumbling to the ground. The trolley then hits a car park curb and tumbles over.

The store worker chasing the shoplifter briefly confronted her before she ran off in the April 26 incident, reports The Guelph Mercury.

The incident was sparked when staff at the store recognised the woman from another theft, days earlier.

In both incidents the woman was aided by unidentified suspects and is believed to be part of a shoplifting gang.

Police say her accomplices are two men and three women.
