A second suspect in the poisoning of an ex-Russian spy and his daughter has been named by a British investigative website.

Bellingcat claims Alexander Miskin, a military doctor working for Russian intelligence, travelled to Salisbury in southern England to target Sergei Skripal, the BBC reports.

The website alleges Miskin travelled under the alias Alexander Petrov.

Last month, Bellingcat named the first suspect in the poisoning scandal as Anatoliy Chepiga.

Russia has rejected the claim.

Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found slumped on a public bench in the English city of Salisbury in March. UK officials says they were poisoned with a nerve agent administered by Russian intelligence officers.

In July, UK woman Dawn Sturgess died from what British police say was contact with the poison which her partner found in a discarded perfume bottle.

Russia denies any involvement in the incident.

Britain last month charged two Russian men with the poisoning.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the men were civilians who did nothing criminal, and urged them to speak to news outlets.

The pair then appeared on Russia's state-funded RT channel, saying they had visited Salisbury as tourists and denying any involvement in the attack.
