A trio of young Muslim women have conned ISIL fighters out of thousands of dollars by using fake social media accounts with racy pictures to secure cash to become jihadi brides.

Three women from Chechnya were able to convince ISIL recruiters of their willingness to travel to Syria to wed terror group fighters, Russia Today reports.

They had the terrorist group wire over $4500 to them under the ruse of travel expenses to Syria but instead deleted the social media profiles and pocketed the cash.

One of the girls said she did think about going to Syria but then changed her mind after hearing about the situation from a friend.

“Many people I know did go, but I know no one for whom it turned out well,” the woman told Life News.

The con artists are now facing charges from Chechnya police for extortion and not following through with their end of the bargain.

“I don’t recall any precedent like this one in Chechnya, probably because nobody digs deep enough in that direction,” officer Valery Zolotaryov told a local newspaper Russia Today.
