Man abandons Lamborghini wreckage after crashing into highway wall

Texas police are searching for the driver of a rented Lamborghini that has been filmed ploughing into a wall at high speed.

The driver was hooning the yellow Lamborghini Gallardo down a highway in Dallas late on Monday night when he over-corrected, overloading the tires and slamming into the wall, WFAA 8 reports.

Undeterred and seemingly uninured, the driver then continued further down the highway before later abandoning it on the road.

A spokesman for the rental company, Exotic Skittles, told Jalopnik they knew who the driver of the $260,000 car is and are helping police track him down.

"You gotta factor this sort of thing in. It's part of the cost of doing business," he said.

"You can get a feeling from most customers. This was a usual customer, though, a guy we had a relationship with.

"We've talked with the guy. Maybe he panicked, maybe he was with friends…I don't really know what was going on."

The spokesman said the company will "probably not" do business with the man again.
